I was going through some of my old pictures and I came across a couple from when I was making Mining at Night Mining at Night.

I originally took them for my Haytreon subscribers, but it's been a couple of years since I made the original model, so it's probably OK to post them up here for free.

This is just the quick version, with mostly raw pictures, if you want to see a detailed breakdown of each part of the build please subscribe (and ignore the terrible virtual avatar, this was from before I had mocap and lipsync set up properly).

Anywho.

Like most of my Diorama, this one started out as a block of blue HD crafting foam. I used a resin cast of one of my existing models to gauge the size for the base and then cut it out with a hot wire. This one was a book nook so there wasn't much room for maneuver but I needed something to help me visualize how much space I had for the details of the diorama.

Untitled

After I'd marked out the base and cut it to size I did the same for the back and side.

Untitled

I used some off cuts of foam to create rock details, and BBQ skewers to hold everything in place while the glue dried. I just used regular crafting glue for this as it didn't need to hold any weight.

Untitled

With the foam cut I began laying out the props. Pretty much everything for this build was made using two part epoxy resin and silicon molds that I brought online for a previous project.

I also included a lip for the roof, and bored out some holes for the back lights in the wall.

Untitled

As you can see, everything is still pretty blockie right now, so I used a couple of sculpting tools to score the rocks. I wanted to go for a layered look as if the cave was carved out by water. This is based on some caves that I went to see as a child that were opened up int a tourist attraction.

Untitled

After Carving out the shapes I filled the gaps using epoxy putty (It has less shrinkage than some of the alternatives) and sealed the model in using a mix of craft glue and acrylic pain.

Untitled

Once the paint had dried, I dry brushed it with a mixture of gray and dark blue, as this was going to be in the shadows most oft he time I only did a couple of highlights, then I attached the resin gems and cut channels in for the LED lights and cable before attaching the cave roof with craft glue.

I can't seem to find a finished image of it with all of the dry brushing and no roof. I think that I must have deleted it for some reason.

Untitled

After that, it was just a matter of making a resin cast of my Rarity model, painting it, and putting it in place.

Mining At Night

All in all, this came out quite well, and is a good demonstration of how someone with very little modeling ability can make something nice with a little effort and even fewer parts.

This model is pretty much just foam, resin and BBQ skewers, with a string of dollar store LEDs attached to give it a little sparkle.

Normally I only make my behind the scenes content available to Haytreon members, but since I've not been uploading much lately I thought that I'd give everyone a sneak peek at how I went about making my latest model.

Here are the bird houses from Griffonstone from first principles to complete. They're mostly just coffee stirrers stuck to card stock with some filament form a 3D pen to make the roofs. The paint is just regular modeling contrast paint.

Hey, Shodan: "write me a conversation between Princess Celestia and Twilight sparkle in which Princess Celestia explains to Twilight why children shouldn't study dark magic"

Princess Celestia: Twilight, I need to talk to you about something important.

Twilight Sparkle: What is it, Princess?

Princess Celestia: It's about dark magic.

Twilight Sparkle: Dark magic? But I thought that was forbidden in Equestria.

Princess Celestia: It is, but I've been hearing rumors that some ponies are practicing it in secret.

Twilight Sparkle: That's terrible! Why would anyone want to study dark magic?

Princess Celestia: There are many reasons. Some ponies are drawn to its power, while others are simply curious about it. But whatever the reason, dark magic is dangerous. It can corrupt the user and lead to terrible things.

Twilight Sparkle: But what if someone wants to study dark magic for good?

Princess Celestia: There is no such thing as good dark magic. It is all inherently evil.

Twilight Sparkle: But what if someone could use dark magic to defeat an evil villain?

Princess Celestia: Even if that were possible, it would not be worth the risk. Dark magic is too dangerous to be used for any purpose.

Twilight Sparkle: But I don't understand. Why is dark magic so dangerous?

Princess Celestia: Dark magic is powered by negative emotions, such as hatred, anger, and fear. When a pony uses dark magic, they are opening themselves up to these emotions. And over time, these emotions can corrupt the pony's heart and soul.

Twilight Sparkle: That sounds terrible.

Princess Celestia: It is. Dark magic can lead to all sorts of evil, including violence, cruelty, and even death.

Twilight Sparkle: But what can I do to stop it?

Princess Celestia: You can tell your friends about the dangers of dark magic. You can also teach them about the importance of friendship and kindness. These are the things that will help them resist the temptation of dark magic.

Twilight Sparkle: I will, Princess. Thank you for telling me about this.

Princess Celestia: You're welcome, Twilight. I just want you to be safe.

I asked two AI why people prefered the Mandalorian to Andor,

This is what they said:

First AI

First, The Mandalorian is a more traditional Star Wars story. It features a lone hero fighting against an evil empire, with plenty of action and adventure. Andor, on the other hand, is a more political thriller, with a focus on the early days of the Rebellion.

Second, The Mandalorian has a more likable protagonist. Din Djarin is a skilled warrior who is also a gentle soul who cares for Grogu. Cassian Andor is a more complex character, but he is also more cynical and world-weary.

Third, The Mandalorian has a more engaging setting. The show is set on a variety of planets, each with its own unique culture and environment. Andor is mostly set on one planet, Coruscant, which is a more familiar setting from the Star Wars films.

Finally, The Mandalorian is simply a better-made show. The production values are higher, the writing is more polished, and the acting is more engaging. Andor is a good show, but it doesn't quite reach the same level of quality as The Mandalorian.

Second AI

Originality: The Mandalorian is an entirely new story in the Star Wars universe, whereas Andor is a prequel to Rogue One, which audiences have already seen.

Relatable protagonist: The Mandalorian's main character, known as Mando, is a mysterious and intriguing character, making audiences invested in his story. The character of Cassian Andor in Andor, on the other hand, is less memorable and relatable.

Baby Yoda: The Mandalorian features the adorable and beloved Baby Yoda, which quickly became a fan favorite and helped draw in more viewers.

Standalone episodes: The Mandalorian has a more episodic structure, with each episode telling its own story while still connecting to the overall narrative. Andor has a more traditional TV show structure with a continuous storyline, which some viewers may find less engaging.

Cinematography: The Mandalorian's cinematography is stunning, with beautiful visuals and stunning special effects. Some viewers feel that Andor's cinematography is more standard and less visually impressive.

I am a conservative girl from a small town,

Where people know each other and the gossip goes around.

I make adult themed plushies,

And some people think it's trashy.

But I don't care what they think,

I'm just doing what I love.

I'm not hurting anyone,

So why should they be so mean?

I'm just a girl trying to make a living,

And I'm not going to let anyone bully me into quitting.

I'm proud of my work,

And I'm not ashamed of who I am.

So if you're thinking about bullying someone,

Just remember that you're not the only one who's different.

We all have our own unique talents and abilities,

And we should all be proud of who we are.

So let's all be kind to each other,

And support each other's dreams.

We're all in this together,

And we can all make a difference.
